THE WORLD'S TOUGHEST CRICKET LEAGUE

As the summer progressing deeper the heat of our extravaganza league is also hiking exponentially. A country where cricket is treated not less than a religion and fans considered themselves devotees, how can be the festival far behind. Amid mild impedance from senior cricketers the mega event dawned on 18th April 2008. And no one had ever dreamed that it could reach to such a level and become the world's toughest cricket league.

With the rotation of globe IPL also traversed a long way. Now we are in the 12th edition of this league. And looking back there are a lot moments to cherish and regret as well. From "DLF IPL" to "VIVO IPL", from "cricket ka dharmayudh" to "game banayega name", from "SONY MAX" to "HOTSTAR" the changes were anonymous. Players were transformed into coaches and mentors. Seeing Baz as anchor in this ipl reminds his swashbuckling knock of 158* in the opening game which served as the ignition temp. to the journey of ipl. There also some moments to regret. Be it the Slapgate, Shahrukh khan Wankhede ban, Virat-Gauti spat, 2013 spot-fixing, CSK & RR termination or the recently concluded MANKADING controversy. Amidst all these the ultimate purpose of ipl is still monotonous. Our ipl trophy reads-

     "Yatra Pratibha Avsara Prapnotihi"

means where talent meets opportunity. With this message ipl is marching ahead year after year. Every season the budding talents of nation  showcast their game and got selected for India. This is a short tale of our so called INDIA KA TYOHAAR so far.
After all one thing whirling in my mind that "Aren't we shooting ourselves in the foot?" The foreign players get to read our conditions and the weakness of our batsmen as well. It can be well understood from an instance which evoked during a t20 match in florida. Where Bravo didn't bowl to the zone of Dhoni and succeeded. Beside this, a grave concern is that ipl leading to parting of cricket. Those days are not far behind when we were cheering for INDIA. But now there are separate fan bases in the likes of CSK , RCB or MI etc.. With the next world cup knocking at the door we must think of it. I personally feel ipl should be treated as a source of entertainment and not more than that. And when it comes to cricket we all should chant a common line "INDIA INDIA".
